	Following the incidents of racist violence towards Moroccan immigrants which took place in El Ejido in February, the Executive Committee of Socialist International Women, meeting in Madrid on 25-26 February, condemns these acts of racism; expresses its support for the movements in civil society which have mobilised to defend the values of tolerance and human rights; supports in particular the action of women, who work continually for peace and fraternity; calls on the Spanish people to safeguard the spirit of democracy, in respecting and recognising diversity.
