Michelle Bachelet Wins Presidential Elections in Chile

We hereby wish to convey our warmest congratulations to Michelle Bachelet on her victory in the presidential elections of Chile.

All of us that are part of the Socialist International Women (SIW) are very proud of her victory and of her inspiring campaign that strengthened the political values of equality, social justice and democracy. With her vision for a more just and equitable future for all, Michelle Bachelet was able to captivate again the Chilean people.

We know how hard she has worked and how hard she will continue to work to realise her vision. We also know her passion for women’s issues and we are confident that she will continue to work for the advancement of women’s rights in her country.

As always, Michelle Bachelet has our full support and we wish her personally, her future government and Chile all the very best.
