Message in Memory of Aixa Lopez

The Socialist International Women is extremely sad to communicate that on 14 July 2023, in the city of Caracas, Venezuela, the comrade Aixa López, National Women’s Secretary of Democratic Action, passed away.

The precariousness, the lack of medicines and the destroyed health system in Venezuela, were determining factors after suffering fractures in both feet when carrying out her political work. She dedicated her life to the recovery of democracy in Venezuela.

Aixa López was a tireless fighter for women’s rights, social democracy, fraternity, solidarity and especially for freedom.
