Message for the municipal elections in Costa Rica from Carolina Delgado, Deputy and President of the PLN Women’s Movement Costa Rica

“4th February marks a historic milestone in Costa Rica!
On this day, we will hold the first joint municipal elections, a fundamental step towards gender equality in local politics. And the National Liberation Party is the only one that has complied with parity in all elected positions, having 3,003 women candidates.
Let us remember the struggles of the brave women who, with determination, have paved the way for this achievement. Their courage and commitment inspire us to continue building a more inclusive and representative future.
We recognize the courage, commitment, and ability of all the women who have put their names forward to represent their communities.
